The Places They Can't See
There are places they can’t see, ones that belong to only me, And even with their harsh cold speech, for them this place is out of reach. Where I escape from stormy nights, to golden skies filled with blinding light. Where the grass is green and I can see, over rolling hills and sunken valleys. Where birds can fly in single file, the only place that brings a smile. Where flowers bloom in a single snap, and warm winds caress my soft pale back. And her I sit, and smile and stay, until I am ready to begin a new day. And when they try to frighten me, I go to the place that they’ll never see, the same that belongs to only me.
