That Lonesome Road
That Lonesome Road
Through the late night roads from Brooklyn to the Bronx was shady, but he walked that lonesome road with a shallow fearlessness. Born in Brooklyn his father was murdered and his mother died after childbirth. He dropped out of school and became a rapping thief who never trusted anyone but himself. “Hey dawg I got some real quality stuff right here you wanna cop?” “Nah man not today”. One day he met someone who would teach him something for the rest of his life. “I have an offer for your album but we need to discuss it in the Bronx. Are you willing to come down here?” “Yeah”. “Okay. I’ll send the address for the studio”. After he recorded his first album with DJ Garix he went to the club to celebrate. “Bye me a drink?” “Why?” “Cuz I’m beautiful.” “So. Don’t mean nun to me.” “Someone’s pissed”. “Someone’s observant”. “Please, for me?” “No”. “Fine. Bartender two drinks over here”. “I can buy my own things”. “Great! You can buy the next round. So who are you? Where are you from?” “Jordan. From Brooklyn”. “Rising city huh? Cool I’m from Atlanta. My parents migrated from Puerto Rico”. “Gotta name?” “Maria, sooo what do you do?” “I rap” “Really?” “Yeah my album comes out in a few months”. “Can you rap right here?” “Nah” “My place with my friends?” “How many?” “Seven plus us”. “Sure”. “Yay! See you later.” “Yeah”. Later that day around 11:00 he went to Maria’s apartment to the smell of mixed drinks and weed “Bronx life huh?” “Shut up city boy. We aren’t as ghetto as ya’ll think we are”. “Aye JJ in the building. I’m Kendrick but go by Future. Dis is Drake, Royal, Rhi, Jeff, Nicky, and Sharkisha”. “Convincing”. “Oh my god whatever city boy. Go somewhere”. “Hola mi nombre es Nicky. Usted es amigo de María ¿verdad?” “They call me papi. Papi chuuulo!” “Jordan. You make things lit huh?” “Si papi no habría nada divertido si no fuera yo”. “Drake, I also sing and rap. I’m on my third album”. “Mabye we can partner up then”. “Yeah holla at me G. We could make sum good. “I’m Royal and you can see why”. “You from Manhattan?” “Brooklyn actually. My parents used to work there before they retired.” “Sharkisha. I don’t like you”. “Fair enough”. “Rhi and imma be the first female to rap”. “Oh shii okay lemme hear some bars den”. “Uhhhh no, you sing first. I asked you to come here and sing for me”. Ight here goes”. Three years later and Maria and Jordan get together. “Baby future won’t shut up about his weed and his molly”. Maybe if you asked him instead of stealing it from him”. “You act like you humble and s*** but you ain’t”. “Oh right I taught you”. “Then help me!” “You got caught you gotta deal wit da consequences”. “BAE!” “Aww cute. No”. “I dios miiiios!” “Chill out and quit that Spanglish stuff. God, I’ll bail you out. You know I will”. “Uhhh! Fine”. “Now that you’re done throwin a fit where are we goin??” “Mario’s”. “Ight”. Later that night on their way home they ran into future on the streets. “Maria where my money at!” “Aye back da hell off Future! I said I’ll get ur money!” “I ain’t playing! One of you better pay up!” “Look I’m tired and wanna leave so can you jus let me and Maria leave”. “I want my money!!!” “Ight –pulls five rolls of cash out- dis enough?” “What bout interest?” “Nigga I won’t hesitate to kill you”. “Threaten me again!” –Jordan shoves Future to the wall- “I said I’ll kill you!” –Pulls out a glock and points it under his jawline- “Aye chill man chill. God damn, but next time don’t be stealing my…” Shots were fired when Maria and Future fell down. Jordan, with the warm blood of his two friends on his face and in his left eye filled with rage, emptied his clip at the gang bangers and slaughtered all six of them. Before he crushed the last one’s skull with his sneakers he asked why to which he replied “Drake and Rhi have a message for you. Keep rapping or come after them and you will wish you died with that slut”. Once Nicky, Royal, and Sharkisha found out they came to Jordan for help to finish Drake and Rhi. “Jordan depressed and confused refused to help them to which they replied: “You were never real. You weren’t worth Maria’s time. I will never have any respect for someone as pathetic as you!” “Really papi? I thought we were your friends and your just gonna let us go? Espero que el diablo consume tu Alma y te pudras en el infierno por toda la eternidad!” “I’m disappointed but Jeff was the same way. Good luck”. Jordan knew they were no match for Drake’s thugs and guards. Even if they lived the 5-4 would be against them. Jordan, hollow and nearly broken, realized people can be two faced, backstabbing, and a burden. He vowed he would never be close to anyone ever again. He moved to Atlanta to become the most successful R&B singer of his time.
