“Hi Brianna” says Leah.
Brianna says nothing.
Brianna is 16 years old and she is a junior in high school. She doesn’t talk to anybody and she has a deep, dark secret. Brianna’s life hasn’t been perfect, she’s been through a lot of depression and has been looking her help but hasn’t found a good person to talk too.
Leah is her best friend and even though Brianna doesn’t talk Leah loves her anyways. Leah doesn’t understand why Brianna doesn’t talk but Leah doesn’t know Brianna’s past. So Leah never asks because she knows Brianna won’t tell her anything.
Brianna’s past has been dark, she got raped as a child by a family member and when she was 14 years old she got pregnant by a family member, but she had an abortion. This caused her to go into a deep, and dark depression and when she got better she went back to school. This is when she meet Leah. Leah is a sweet and kind person but she also has a deep secret. Brianna loves Leah and they are good friends. Leah became friends with Brianna in the start of their junior year, when Leah came to the lunch table to sit with Brianna because she was alone. Everyday Leah came and sat with Brianna.
Leah’s secret is she is having a baby but isn’t telling anybody, and she is scared to tell her parents. Leah’s parents are very judgmental and they will take the news harshly. Leah is now 5 months pregnant with a girl and she knows that she can’t keep hiding her pregnancy. The father of her child doesn’t want anything to do with her or the child and Leah is very upset and scary but Leah knows she needs to tell her parents.
Brianna finally finds a counselor to talk to and she starts to talk again and she also had been put on anti-depression medication. She’s getting much better and she is starting to talk in school, and Leah is loving every minute of it. Leah also telling Brianna she’s having a baby and Brianna is very excited for Leah.
“Leah tell you’re parents you’re having a baby!” Brianna says.
“NO! I am extremely nervous and scared to tell them” says Leah.
Brianna supports Leah in her decisions to have a baby. Leah is now 6 months and 2 weeks along and she is getting bigger by the second. One day Leah’s mother, Leanne walks into the room while she is changing and notices her belly, her mom screams for Leah’s father “LARRY!!” he runs in the room, and they sit Leah down and talk to her and ask her questions.
“Why didn’t you tell us Leah?” Leanne says.
“Who is the father?” Larry says.
Leah doesn’t answer the questions, all she does is cry. Then Larry leaves the room and Leanne and Leah talk and she answers the questions they asked her. Leanne leaves the room to go talk to Larry and Larry goes in Leah’s room and talks to her very calmly and he is not mad but they all go to sleep.
The next day everybody is calm and Leah is happy she told her parents. So she leaves for school and Brianna isn’t in school today…she is in the hospital. Leah leaves school to go see Brianna, Brianna’s mom, Bailey is there and she’s crying.
“What’s wrong Ms. Bailey?” Leah asked.
“Brianna is hurt…”
“What hurt”? Leah says.
“Yes hurt Ms. Bailey says
She’s been raped again”
“When was she raped before”? Leah says.
“As a young child” says Ms. Bailey.
2 months later…
Brianna is doing well and Leah had a baby girl name Kayla Gracie Weller. The father of Leah daughter isn’t in her life but she is very happy and so is Brianna, they are all well and Brianna is the god mother of Leah’s daughter Kayla Gracie. Leah parents are very supportive of Leah and loves baby Kayla and Brianna is talking more than ever!
