First Sunday of summer, Anthony wakes up early around 6:30 in the morning. He starts to make himself breakfast trying not to wake his parents or siblings. He contemplates on what to eat looking through the fridge for any leftovers like the pozole, chicken tacos or the enchiladas. He really didn’t wanna eat any of that so he just decided to make himself some huevo con chorizo. He takes out the pan from the oven trying not to make too much noise with all the other pots or pans in there, he places it on the stove and turns the fire on low meanwhile he takes out the 4 eggs and chorizo. He begins to make himself his egg when he hears his 4 year old little brother come out of the room.

 “Whats up homie” anthony said,

 “whats up foo” frankie replied 

“What are you doing up so early you should be asleep foo”

 “What are you doing” frankie asked 

“I'm Eating some papa, you want some” 

“Yeah” Frankie replied. 

Anthony and Frankie shared the 4 eggs that Anthony made for himself.

 “Now you're gonna go help wash the car so I can ask ma to use it later” Anthony said. 

Anthony put on some old shorts and an old shirt that he had in his drawer, he also got his brother ready in some old clothes that he had. They both then went down the stairs  outside to the front of the house, Anthony got a bucket and filled it up with water and soap while Frankie played in the front and in the car. 

“Put music on Jr” Frankie said to Anthony, 

“Let put on some oldies since they dont start till 12” Anthony said

 Anthony connected his phone to the car's bluetooth and put on “Hello Stranger” by Barbra Lewis. Anthony continued washing the car while Frankie stayed in the car dancing and singing to oldies. When done Anthony decided to vacuum the car really fast so he went into his grandma's house downstairs to get the vacuum and extension cord to clean the inside of the car. He first started with the 2 front seats then the back. Once he finished he put everything away, turned off the car and he and his brother went upstairs. When they got up there everyone was waking up already.

“Good morning baby” Anthony's mom said to him

“Morning ma” Anthony replied 

“Morning pops” Anthony's dad said to him

“Whats up pops” Anthony said 

Frankie runs into the room and jumps on the bed with a big smile on his face 

“Morning mama and pops” Frankie said to his mom and dad 

“What's up baby” his parents said together 

“What time is it” Mom said 

“Its nine ma” Anthony said 

“Whos first in the shower we got two hours till church” Dad said   

“I showered yesterday” Antony's brother Isaac said 

“I'll go first” Anthony said

“Okay but hurry up, I gotta shower your sister and I have to shower also so don't take long” Mom said  

“Okay ma” Anthony said 

Anthony got all his clothes ready and his towel and took a quick ten minute shower and he got out and put on some shorts and a shirt. Anthony got out of the restroom meanwhile his mom put his sister in the shower. His mom came out and he asked if she was already in so that he could get the ironing board and iron. He brought the ironing board into the kitchen because he room was too packed because everyone was in there. He brought the clothes he was gonna wear that day to crease it. He first put his khaki Dickie pants on the board and laid them out flat but folded the pants so he could crease the middle of the leg of the pants. Then he put a paño flat out on the pants so that the iron wouldn't damage his pants and began spraying it with water to begin ironing. After he was done with his pants he did the same to his shirt, he made two creases all along the front of his white Pro Club shirt. Then he ironed the paño he was gonna use. He chose to use the black one over the blue. So he also creased up his paño so that he could put it in his back pocket. His mom had just finished getting out of the shower so he folded the board back up and put it in the restroom along with iron. He then put his pants on with his initial belt with the letter “Z” on it in Old English since his last name started with a “Z”. then his socks and shoes. Finally he put on his shirt and put some of his bandana in his back pocket so the rest could hang out. Then he put on his cologne and a sweater with his last name on the front “Zamarripa”. Everyone was ready so then they left Isaac and Dad in his car and Anthony, Genesis, and Issac with mom in her car. They headed to church which was down the street. An hour later finally out of church it was already 12. Right after church Anthony asked his mom if he could use her car to go to the lake today.

“Ma can i borrow the car today To go to Azcarate with some friends” 

“Mmm that's why the car was all clean today huh?” his mom said 

“Yeah“ Anthony replied 

“Mhm, I guess but u gotta ask your dad too” 

“Okay ma thank you” 

“POPS!” Anthony yelled to his dad

“WHAT” his dad said 

“Can I use the car today to go to the lake with some friends I asked mom already and she said yeah”

“Okay” his Dad responded 

“Okay thank you ma and pops, I love you guys” Anthony said to his Mom and Dad

“Yeah we love you too” his mom and dad said to him

Anthony hugged them before getting into the car 

“I'll see you guys later” Anthony said to his parents and siblings 

“Be safe” his mom and dad said to him 

“I will I will” Anthony replied 

“Aight” his parents said 

“ Okay I love you guys, peace”  

Anthony drove out of the church parking lot and onto the freeway heading to Ascarate. On the way he texted his friends to ask if they were already there because he was on his way. His phone then buzzes with a message saying that yes they were all on their way already he responds with “okay bet” he then puts down his phone and he turns on the radio to the oldies (92.3 The Fox). He listened to the oldies the whole way there. He then got to the lake after a 30 minute drive. He gets some pizza before he finally gets to the lake. He then drives around the lake looking for a spot to set up because he was the first one that got there. He then picks the spot next to the handball court and the restrooms where all the lowriders park during the cruise. He parked the car and got out and set up the table. He put the pizza on the table and not too long after his friends showed up and they all brought different things. His friend Jesus brought drinks and Miguel brought chips and snacks. They set up the table and began to talk. 

“What up, about time yall show up” Anthony says 

“Shut up my mom gave me a whole lecture before I left telling me to be safe” Jesus said 

“ Yeah same” Miguel said

“So what we finna do or what” Anthony said 

“Idk lets just chill here till the cruise starts and everything” Jesus said 

“Yeah bet bet” Miguel and Anthony said 

“Aight” Jesus said

“Aye have y'all watched the movie The Tax Collector” Anthony said 

“Nah but I heard it was good” Jesus replied 

“Bro yeah its hella good i watched it like the day before yesterday” Miguel said

“Fr bruh it on hulu if you finna watch it” Anthony said

“Aight bet bet” Jesus replied 

They all then grabbed a slice of pizza and got cokes and began to eat, talk and laugh. They then started to play football as there playing football Anthony noticed this girl walk past them he immediately stopped playing and ran straight towards her. He stopped her right in her tracks and he started talking to her asking how she was and saying that he thought she was beautiful and if he could get her number and her name, her name was Elena. He got the number and told her it was nice to meet her and went back with his friends. Once he was there they started asking him what he was doing he told them and they laughed and joked about it for a little. Later in the night they walked around and looked at all the lowriders. They walked around for a while and then decided to head back home. Once he got home the first thing he did was text Elena.

“Hey this is Anthony from the lake” He said 

“Hi, it's Elena, how are you?”

They talked all night and were really fond of each other from the start. They talked the whole week nonstop. When Friday came Anthony invited her to a movie on Sunday she agreed. It was a little awkward at the beginning but then they started very good conversations and enjoyed the movie right after they started planning more dates to go. Finally after a couple months of talking Anthony asked her to be his girlfriend and they got together. Later they met each others parents and that's when a lot of things went wrong. Elena's parents disliked Anthony due to the fact of the way his family was brought up, especially his tios from being involved in gangs to being in prison for stabbings and shootings. Elena's parents said that he would go into the same mess they are in, that they knew the tios of Anthony and they were nothing but trouble. Elena's parents on many occasions kept her from seeing Anthony. Through all the trouble and months of not being able to see Elena, Anthony finally convinced her parents that he would never follow in their footsteps. They then went back to seeing each other all the time as they were inseparable. As there relationship grew they began going over to each other's house and watching old movies together Such as “The Notebook, “Blood in Blood Out” “Boulevard Nights” etc.  They had there bad days like any other relationship but always stayed together. They stayed together for a long time until Elena died of heart complications at 62, heartbroken Anthony spent the rest of his four years living in sadness. He then died at 69 of old age. He never mind dying saying to himself that death would bring them even closer together.
