LIFE IS LIKE A GAME OF TENNIS, THE PLAYER WHO SERVES WELL SELDOM LOSES.

As the scintillating sun dawns upon my chamber's window and reflects upon its walls covered with  dark pastel shadows, it fills my heart with euphoria and shivers pass all through my body. How beautiful is my country? From wide ranging streets, which sometimes leave you baffled as they lead you from one way to another, to the prepossesing gardens with flowers that seem to be self effacing as wind flows past them. My country India is maybe the most happening country across the globe, full of events, festivals and much, much more. But an event which started not quite long back ago, reaaly stole my heart away. Actually, not an event, but a mission which was introduced on a trial basis by our prime minister, and has now become a mass movement. Yes, this mission is the CLEAN INDIA MISSION , for which our prime minister made a passionate and enthusiastic call last year. This call was made to improve the sanitation standards of India. This Abhiyan aims to teach civic virtue to it's citizens, by constant relentless reminding and nowhere more than in India which is still struggling to create citizens out of its people. A civilized person is expected to show concern and be treated equal by fellow citizens irrespective of caste and creed.  Our living standards have deteriorated to such an extent that filth and dirt have become part of our daily lives.

Since the last 14 years of my life, i have been to many malls, supermarkets, etc. But when we look outside these, all that is present on the roads is dirt, filth and packets of wafers. The only reason why India is still under the DEVELOPING tag is the impetuous attitude of the people towards the country and its headway. One of the consequences of this is the lack of cleanliness and sanitation in my country.

Its the nine letter word AWARENESS that matters the most. If only we could increase the circle of our ministration by a radius of 1 metre, and go for that extra mile to sweep that filthy area clean, we Indians would not have required janitors, who earn a living by doing such types of work. The main idea is that cleanliness is a complex ideal which needs to be accomplished not only visually, but also internally. People here should attempt to clean not only the external environment and create clean spacesto improve the quality of people's lives but also the internal debris of prejudices like untouchability, deeply engrained within the social history of India by changing the mindset that cleaning toilets is not just the job of janitors but also the duty of every Indian.
Many celebrities also contributed to this mission by sweeping the roads and cleaning filthy areas. But wait, how can an actress don heels and then sweep the roads? Unfortunately and unexpectedly, this mission has transformed into a highly advertised social media stunt, as all social networking sites are flooded with the latest statistics related to the Clean India Mission.

Success can only be achieved when people, instead of loitering around and commenting how filthy India is, actually move out there doing the task. We need to ponder and ask ourselves, if not me then who? If not now then when?

I believe that the smallest and the simplest acts of kindness are the ones that change humanity the most. One good deed , one act of cleaning the streets at a recurring basis is what is going to change the society. A cleaner society would mean a healthier population and this would imply a greater human development.

I willl contribute with the attitude of "I Can and I Will"with taking theonus of responsibility on my shoulders not to malign Mother Earth and remembering no one else will do it for me. I will do my Karam by inculcating the habit of Shramdaan
I would selflessly go for an extra mile to serve my community. If my neighbor takesone step towards cleaning I would  try to go ten steps ahead with vigour and zeal.

I would not start this struggle towards cleanliness in my country some other day, not tomorrow, but today itself as i beleive that NO TIME IS WRONG TO DO THE RIGHT THING.

In the end I would like to say that,

EVERYONE MUST BE HIS OWN SCAVENGER.
