Living Outside the United States
In my life, I have seen many places and I have done many things. Often in this adventure we call life, we are trying to find a place to call home. In my case this planet has never, nor will it ever be my home. The grand paradise called Heaven, which comes after this life is my home, but until then, I want to find somewhere that is enjoyable enough to be a place holder. I have thought of many countries and areas that are outside of the southern section of the continental United States of America that I would consider calling my temporary home.
One of the places I would want to live at would be Saint Thomas. Saint Thomas is a beautiful island in the Caribbean, which is home to crystal blue waters and a tropical landscape. The atmosphere there is both peaceful and relaxing. The ocean surrounding the island is perfect for sailing and underwater activities such as scuba diving or snorkeling. Saint Thomas is truly a lovely place to live and experience nature.
Out of the European Nations, I would want to live in Germany because it is one of my absolute favorites! Germany is home to a very nice culture of people, along with a clean and generally unpolluted cities. Its regional wilderness includes The Black Forest, which was the location of many fairy tales and children’s stories. Though I personally don’t prefer its style of government, Germany has rebuilt and greatly recovered since the end of WWII and its people have thrived. I definitely consider Germany to be one of my favorite countries.
Switzerland is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen on Earth. Its towering mountains and prestigious valleys are awe inspiring. The scenic views are like no other place on Earth. The rural parts of the nation are quaint and blissful. You can see snow on the mountains year round and during the winter they are a great place to go skiing.
All of these places I have mentioned, in terms of their beauty, are truly examples of God’s handy work. Their people are friendly, and the unique cultures these places have allow many opportunities to try new things. I enjoyed experiencing all of these places! All the way from snorkeling with the sea turtles at Saint Thomas, to hiking up the mountains of the Swiss Alps, and even getting to tour the Church in Worms where Martian Luther posted his 99 Theses! I hope that sometime in my lifetime, I’ll get to see and experience these things again, but until then, I’ll enjoy my time here in the South where God wanted me to be!
