As the sun sets
Do you remember? I do.
The way the moonlight stroked our faces,
Though we lied side by side,
Our minds drifted to other places,
And the night was ours.
We thought of all the change about to take place,
And the starlight filled us with infinite hope,
We sword we’d stand together to face,
Whatever life threw at us.
I stole a glance in your direction,
And felt my heart skip a beat,
You had stolen my affection,
But now everything was about to change.
I prayed and begged the sun not to rise,
But my wishes went unheard.
I knew one day I would lose you-and you knew it too,
Yet no one said a word.
