dark secrets.
Our secrets leap from lip to lip
as we whisper in the dark
my breath intwined with yours
as we dream inisde this park.
the tree’s deep roots will hug our bones
and sway us til we sleep
i can drift off with a smile,
with thoughts of you to keep
your features are just dimly lit
by the fireflies and stars
you can trace my mending heart
and i can kiss your scars
not one soul could find us here
this place we call our own
there’s a romance in the air
in every flower, every stone.
with time the sun does rise
and the shadows are left fleeting
the morning dew upon the blades
and that does end our meeting
but only for the daylight hours
until the night comes once again
my lips thurst for your secrets
tell me where, i’ll tell you when.
