A Fading Memory
As cuddly as a teddy bear
As fiercely protective as a lion
My dog Snoop looked after me when I was alone
He was my one and only true best friend
When I was scared he fought the dark shadows of my imagination
He was there when I had no friends to talk to
He was there for me when no one else was
He brought me joy when I was empty
Now he is no longer there to lick away my tears
Now at night when I’m scared no one is there to comfort me
Now when I’m sad there is no one to bring me joy
All I have lest is a fading memory of my best friend
