Pigeons MAG
Even we’re floundering
in the Land of the Free,
so much that language
can’t propel us
out of the
Abyss.
I can’t help but
hurt
for the voices snuffed not by fire,
but frozen over
by the nothing
that hears them.
So watchful for pecks,
I fashion a passenger pigeon,
strap my best work onto it,
send it to scorched earth.
I hope to save the heart
of an art going
extinct –
Oh wait,
all the passenger pigeons
are dead.
