Known
One in a million,
Yet feeling alone.
Part of a union,
Just want to be known.
Feeling so desperate,
Just want to be heard.
Trying so fervently,
To find the words.
Fading like grey,
Into the background,
Feeling dismayed,
Going without a sound.
A sea of faces,
Mine’s there too,
Unrecognisable gazes,
Of people like me and you.
I want to scream,
I want to cry,
Living a bad dream,
Not a lullaby.
