Even If My Heart Pretends
In the quiet corners of my heart,
A love, unspoken, sets its mark.
I know it's wrong, I shouldn't feel,
Yet emotions dance, they're all too real.
You're my friend, that's what you see,
But deeper waters stir in me.
It's not fair to you, I understand,
To hide this love, unplanned.
I can't pretend, I can't deny,
These feelings that I can't untie.
More than a friend, it's plain to see,
But I'll love you silently.
I cherish the bond that we possess,
Our friendship, I won't confess.
For in this secret, love resides,
And in our friendship, it abides.
Though my heart yearns for something more,
I'll keep this love behind the door.
I hope our friendship never ends,
Even if my heart still pretends.
