Beyond Friendship
Loving you as more than a friend,
A feeling I know I shouldn't tend.
It's a truth that's hidden deep inside,
A secret I can no longer hide.
I cherish our friendship, it's true,
But my heart longs for something new.
I can't be just your friend anymore,
These feelings I can't simply ignore.
It's not fair to you, I understand,
To hold feelings you might not withstand.
Yet, I can't pretend they don't exist,
Loving you is something I can't resist.
In silence, I'll carry this heavy load,
A love that's not meant to be showed.
I value our friendship, want it to endure,
But my feelings for you remain obscure.
I know you may never feel the same,
And it's a truth that brings me pain.
I'd never want to drag you down with me,
For my emotions are far from free.
If by some chance you were to care,
I fear I'd lead you to a world unfair.
My emotional state, fragile and weak,
I'd only bring the tears you'd weep.
So, I'll love you from a distance, my friend,
A love that won't reach its true end.
I'll keep these feelings hidden and tucked away,
Hoping our friendship will forever stay.
