Imagination Waltz
The embroidered flowers roll out into a field,
And I stand there.
A stuffed cat offers his paw.
“Shall we dance?”
And so we do.
We waltz across cotton roses and painted daisies
As plastic dragonflies flutter overhead.
A foxtrot through the dining room
A sockhop through the kitchen
And a little tango in the living room
But as night fades to day,
The cat returns to his immobile state
And I am lonely once again
