Mushroom of the Woods
Simple;
life in nature is simple.
Thoughts leave my mind
as I am engulfed in the beauty no one seems to notice.
Peering through the foliage,
small spots of tan and brown poke through the grass.
Stopping to look
more pieces of the world around us become relevant.
The smell of the dew on the grass brings out birds' favorite snacks.
The warmth of the sun mixed with the cool morning breeze.
It feels like living.
The song of a morning dove,
Waking up the sun.
The leaves rustling with the wind;
the breeze leads us further into the forest.
The many shades of green find haven in the sunlight.
There are small white flowers shaped like bells;
thoughts of a small clock tower reside in my head.
My favorite thing we saw,
the mushrooms of the woods.
They spread their spores like thousands of tiny kisses.
Planting themselves as memories into the roots of my mind.
These days in nature;
these days are simple.
