Pebble
The pebble that has been kicked down, down the lane
To the cottage overgrown
The pebble I carry home
Handle it gently for the pure kind soul
The pebble I let rest on windowsill where sun filters through
Seeing the glistening lake across where dainty yellow wildflowers bloom
The pebble wishes to be with others outside
I take it to lake to the others and shimmers as its own
The pebble I bring home
Caring for it along the way so Precious
The pebble and I sit by the sparky fire enjoying warmth
We go outside again to the other pebbles
The pebble comes home bruised
The taunting voices fill my head trying find pebble lost in the pool
The pebble reaches my hand and I pull it up
We walk home and I tell my pebble everything I want to know
My pebble I comfort saying that I know it’s going to be okay
I will lose sight of my pebble
My pebble will know how to find me

This poem is very personal to me, and I really adore the meaning I put behind it, especially the imagery, it's something I definitely hold close to my heart.
