Tall Trees
Standing tall in the midday heat
Its arms hung low in the sun.
The smell of the grass
And the light hum of the lawnmower
Grows ever stronger.
it’s tough hard skin,
A known home of the locals
that go crawling up and down.
Trees are the givers of life
And yet they ask for nothing in return.
They know it’s their purpose
And so they stand tall, breathing in
And breathing out.
