I wish I could too
Diving, flying through the street
I emerge from the crowded cobblestone
I fly high into the sky and hope to reach the sun
I fly over the traffic and bustling sidewalks
I make my way to my nest, overlooking the bay
The sea shines, lighting my way
I hear the soft cries of my babies alone
They cry, “Mama, mama, mama, come home”
I hug them close and give them their meal
Then I soar over the beach and watch the couples walk down streets
The couples hold hands, oh I wish I could too
The humans do not know how much birds wish to be humans
