Backyard Sanctuary
I sit outside
in a simple green chair in my backyard
Feeling the breeze,
Smelling the fresh air,
Listening to the birds sing.
Their song angelic
It’s as if they are nature’s choir.
I see the sun shine on the trees
showcasing their beautiful colors
while casting large shadows.
I focus on the flowers,
admiring their beauty.
I begin to reflect,
my backyard is my world.
The only thing that matters in that point and time.
As the sun fades I begin to think
How beauty lies in everything.
