Pink
“Pink is an unhappy hue”
Sometimes it's the color of bright dresses
But other times it's the color of a face
That is angry with you
Pink might be my favorite color
But that doesn't mean
its showered by greatness
It could be my favorite
Because of flowy poppies and spotted cherry blossoms
Or it could be because
Of the memories that come with it
Of feeling girly
Or wanting to fit in
Growing a hatred for the color
Before I was even ten
But soon enough
I loved the color
I loved putting blush on my cheeks
Putting pink highlights in my hair
That glimmered in the sun
I loved noticing pink flowers
Of all types
Pink makes me confident
Like I’m taking a deep breath
Pink can be a happy hue

I wrote this about how something as simple as a color can lower how you feel about yourself and how I learned how to grow out of that
