Boy
I was a boy
When I was born,
From the moment they looked at my body
And decided I wasn’t.
I am a boy
Though I bore her name
I was never her.
I killed her with my own hands
And no amount of hoping
Can bring her back.
I will be a boy still
When you condemn me to hell
For my wicked ways
Because an eternity of fire and brimstone
Is worth it.

I'm a trans guy, and this piece is about that. I wanted it to resonate with other trans people. It might make other people a little bit uncomfortable, and honestly I kind of hope it does. That's sort of what art is about.
