Remembrance
Her hair flows seamlessly with the wind
Swaying side to side along to the music
Unknowingly, she attracts the attention of hungry eyes
With such grace, there’s no wonder why
Hand in hand, we walk into the restless waters
The cerulean and tranquil ripples surge across the horizon
She runs ahead, trying to escape the splashes purposed for her body
Our laughs reverberated across the beach
She, my best friend, leads us back to the hotel
Where we lay, side by side, for hours
A salty breeze infiltrates my nose
As my hands become entangled in her long, blonde locks
Her chest begins to produce a steady rhythm
That signals her somnolence
My mind soaks in the beatitude of us
And I can’t help but wonder how nice it would be
To stay like this forever

"Remembrance" was written in honor of a nostalgic song, Riptide by Vance Joy, that has brought me unforgettable memories and people.
