One Way Calls
You don't call anymore
but i guess you never really did
the phone works bother ways
i'm always calling, but who's really keeping score
you stay on the receiving end
send me straight to voicemail every now and then
hit me up with a new number or your phones not on
wait til your next paycheck to pay it off
you don't text anymore
try to see me again
but go and say how much you miss me
to every one of your friends
you play pretend in every message you send
"Mommy misses you so much"
"I love you"
but you never stand to prove them
its been over a year
and you've had every chance
you don't make any effort to see me
no fragile consistency in your breathing
when i tell you how i'm hurt
you never learned how to love
i wonder how you could ever love me
because it you truly did
your calls, i'd be receiving
