Freedom to the Youth!
In this perfectly imperfect planet of ours,
That has bled for independence, everlasting scars
Several stories of valour and gruesome
Encircle my mind as I ponder on ‘freedom’
What does freedom mean…
To the youth of the world?
To the innocent curious schoolboy,
It is the birds soaring in the vast skies
It is the far-stretched oceans
Him, unwilling to read and study all day,
Freedom is running on the open fields-
A free-spirited mind.
To the dully scowling teengirl,
It is the glaring rainbow that dares to dazzle
It is broken chains and broken birdcages
She, caged within her own self-doubt,
Freedom is breaking through her own boundaries
A chance to define herself.
To the enlightened young-adult,
It is the bright illuminating mornings,
It is as well the night, dim and cold.
Him, chained by responsibilities all day,
Freedom is the feeling of being able to do anything
Without being restricted by anyone.
Now all rise, my brothers and sisters…
The youth with the power to develop and to end.
Freedom is yours to define,
Freedom is yours to defend.
