The First Touch
For 9 months we only had black and white images of you
Your little black and white feet along the back of my womb
How sweet I thought, how sweet.
Oh, how we dreamt of your laughter and your smile,
We couldn’t wait for you to be born.
I would walk along the world seeing little babies around,
Being completely jealous.
It constantly made me think of the miracle I had in my womb.
As I was hoping for a “BOOM!” - “my water broke”
When you arrived in my arms, your little feet took a special place in my heart.
They were the cutest little baby feet I’d ever seen.
I thought to myself all the time that you were now the best blessing in my life.
There was nothing more neat,
Than seeing your sweet baby feet.

Something about me is that I am a very realistic person. I love bringing things to life, and making everything special. With this piece, I wanted it to be something anyone can take to heart and relate to. Writing this piece, "The First Touch" was uplifting to me, and others and I'm glad I could give people joy and smiles on their face!
