Sexism
The feeling of never being top dog
Having to gain muscle just to feel safer
Always hearing
“Because I'm a man”
“Because I'm better”
Imagine the world thinking less of you
for the gender you were born as
Your teacher says I need strong people
and picks all boys
Reaching for something as a man says
“You shouldn't be getting that I'll get it” or
“Careful wouldn’t want you to get hurt”
Men don’t always have to be the hero's
Women can take care of themselves
Let us be independent
We can handle more than you think
might not have had “power” back then
But earned that equality
Had to work extra just to prove were the same
May be built differently
But just as strong
A woman is like an ocean
Pretty and peaceful
But powerful and can take over
Don’t underestimate her capabilities
