Living Proof
You’re swallowed by darkness but not the kind you may think
You aren’t locked in a small room with no light shining through
You are trapped in your mind the darkest place of all
I'm living proof that the darkness that once swallowed you whole
Will spit you back out. You aren’t worthless you are a mess
You my friend are perfectly broken. You have made it another day
And for now that is what makes it okay.
You are stronger than you think you are look at how far you have come
You shine brighter than the stars that flood the night sky and you are loved
More than ice cream on a summer day. You will be okay
The tunnel in your mind will once come to an end and you will breathe again
I am living proof that the darkness does indeed fade and the light at the
End isn’t really that far away
If nobody has told you today I am proud of you for making it through
Another day. Hold on tight and the darkness will fade away.Maybe
Next week or maybe next year one day you will be just okay.

My name is Aslynne I am seventeen years old and see the world in a different light than most. I have battled with mental health and addictions since I was young and now that I have overcome my past I have started to share my story with others so maybe no body has to feel as alone as I once did.
