Memories Ln
The sun never stopped shining.
Every glance outside the trees danced in the wind.
It’s like the ice cream truck was there everyday.
Sticky hands from blowing bubbles,
Or sticky hands from golden marshmallows.
The castle in the backyard was larger than Hogwarts.
Going back, the sun has perished.
Concealed by realization,
That my life was never a fairy tale.
The clouds represent maturity and growth.
No longer dancing in the rain,
But staying dry because it’s the responsible thing to do.
The trees look tired after years of standing tall.
Instead of admiring the beauty, I judge the ugly.
My once vast imagination so vivid it felt real.
There sat the rotting treehouse I once slayed dragons in.
I’m not sad it’s over.
I’m happy that I am blessed with such beautiful memories.
Happy that I had that tiny little home,
Happy my tiny head was filled with joy and adventure.
Because now my heart is filled with love.
A love for life, and a life I love.
