Friday night lights
Lights are on flashing shiny lights
as my teammates and I run on the field to prepare for the game.
The lights remind me of headlights from a car
That shines in the night.
Students filling the stands
pushing and shoving,
looking like a herd of elephants as they stubble over each other to watch the game.
The green turf,
looking like our battle field as we prepare to fight for another win.
Refs wearing striped shirts whistle in their hands
The whistle blows and the game begins
The crashing and cracking of students hitting each other
Looking like they are two buffalo going head to head with their enemies
The ball flying high and far in the air looking like a bird flying in the night sky
As it soundly lands in the hands of our wide receiver
Everyone grows quite
like the dead of night when everyone is finally asleep
The feeling like everything is happening in slow motion
As you hear everyone start to scream and cheer
As we just won our first game

This piece was inspired to me during the football game I got to play in. It was an exciting moment as a girl on a boys football team, being accepted and being allowed to play. It was a good moment and feeling. Like I was on top of the world, and I wanted to share it.
