The Final Step
I walk into the gym ready to lift
I sit on the turf, stretching out my arms and legs,
To prepare myself for the workout ahead.
I go over to the squat rack in front of me.
The heavy college application rests on my shoulders.
My arms and legs are getting tired and achy,
But I know I am almost done typing.
My eyes are burning from looking at the screen,
My body is exhausted,
I drag myself over to the Stairmaster.
I get ready to press start.
The long journey ahead of me begins.
After a while, I look at the top of the screen,
I am almost finished, with the steps.
Finally, I see the confetti falling from the top,
My workout is finished,
I had reached the final step.
