Across the Table
January 9, 2024
Across from me are my two best friends
They tell me everything about the other
He hates her and she can't stand him
Yet in this moment
They bond over ignoring me

This piece is based on something I had said while I was venting in my diary about my friends. The story goes that one of my friends moved away from our main lunch table to get away from a friend of ours that she didn't like and took me with her. Just for him to follow us to the new table, and the second he did my other friend forgot all about me and only talked to him. It's better now, and I'm pretty sure they still aren't on the best terms, but it made for good poetry.
