Silenced
A soft spoken child.
Endless days with you,
You were my favorite person—
I am all yours.
A gardener and a flower
My mothers’ mother
She wasn’t soft spoken like me
A breeze so powerful, her voice
flew away
I long to hear you again,
Too young to know better.
Too old to forget.

This poem is inspired by my grandma who had a stroke when I was 6 years old and lost her ability to talk and walk.
