Quarantine + Nature
Forced to imagine
I just missed the structure.
The structure I knew so well
Taken from me
A new one forced upon me
Based on my dining table
Now no longer a sacred place to eat
A place to sit all-day
Stress central
I hated it
Forced to adapt
I wasn’t ready
No one was.
But soon I did adapt
I made time
Time for myself
Time to get up
Time to stand up
Time to go outside
Started with a breath of fresh air
Became a necessary ritual
All I needed to do was walk
Mind cleared
Motivated once again
Even on the hot days of early summer
Mind cleared.
Motivated once again.
I don’t miss any of it
But I do miss it.
I miss the comfort
The comfort that eased the stress
The stress of a new lifestyle
One put upon me for an indefinite period.
So I do miss it, I guess.
I guess I do.
