Chasing the Morning Sun
In the morning I am tired,
But the beautiful sunrise wakes me up,
It calls to me and shouts my name,
And then rises higher and higher running away from me,
I follow the sun through the clouds and I grasp at it with all my might,
But no matter how hard I try,
I can’t seem to look straight at the sun because its rays blind my sight,
So in the end I miss and fall down to earth again,
Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow,
When the sun is up again.

My name is Thea, I am in 7th grade and I like dancing, swimming, doing art, and reading. My inspiration for writing this poem was from the beautiful nature of the sun and the clouds. They caught my eye while I was looking for inspiration so I decided tro write about it.
