Slope Sorrow
Sliding through slopes so steep,
I created a memory I’ll forever keep,
Remember smelling the scent of the fresh air,
I slid and slode without a care.
Cut up flakes with my board,
My fear of a fall I ignored.
A risky dance,
For that feeling I take a chance.
The hills stood silent and witnessed my plight,
A deep hushed break, pain’s icy bite,
A tragic fall put an end to my delight,
A now crippled hand stood to my right.
