Beauty like the Cat
Promised spring— to fight the blooming flowers
Yearning beyond myself;
How cats flow,
I envy,
From step to step, fluidity vowed
to remain
Sleeping in muscles, dancing away on weightless feet
How I wish;
Flow and grace— “Appear!” I beg.
The cats, deaf, glide past,
Abhorred by some for their motion
Which the bones ache for
How lucky existing,
Even self-loathed; chilled still
That which kill
I wish to steal.
