what the parent shows

life among the youngest makes the elder seem old
a child has only what the parent showed
they act as they see the bearing labor
so the child cries and whines wiping tears with tissue paper
another day goes by and the eldest wanders around, while the one in the middle
is nowhere to be found
a letter is being written from the eldest
which the youngest makes seem old
but then again it only knows
what the parent shows
