I want to hold your hand
Always there
But I want to let go
I need some space, freedom
You can’t control me forever
I hope you know
I just need your love to show
I want to stand on my own
Walk, talk
Think my own thoughts
Choose what I want, need
I know you’re only helping, pushing
Too far over the edge
I’ll never be able to fall on my own
Crash or drown
Your hand will always be there leading me around
I don’t want that
I can’t handle that
I want to hold your hand
Always there
But I need you to let go
