Traveling back
to that cold February evening.
It’s the day of cupids
and chocolate hearts
that haunts me to this day.

At the newly age of six,
It’s hard to accept
the fact that someone
can cease to live.

He laid in that bed
cold as stone,
as I stroked his hand
and his heart slowed.

To this day,
My face is stained with tears
from that painful evening,
of cupids and chocolate hearts.

This is about my grandfather that died in the hospital when I was 6. To this day, every Valentine's Day I cry.
