"Burning"

Fires burning, hearts stirring
I can barely feel my own two feet
Tears streaming down my face
As I try to keep up this back- breaking pace
You see the smile I want you to see
You never look past the broken crease
Only wanting to keep from falling asleep
These memories are what I want to keep
Days of laughter
Your smile sorely sought after
If only you saw what I hide underneath
Rolling like the waves
This pain barely stays within
But still I keep it in
Just so that I can make you win.
