The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
No, no my brother
There's no need to be surprised
For when the revolution comes
It won't be televised
"Reality" TV will resume
Honey Boo Boo will be the rave
You'll tune in to see exploitation
While revolutionaries are lying in their grave
You'll retire into the night
With theories of large bangs
You'll be concerned with the X-Factor
And how well that little girl sang
Media outlets won't pick it up
Not CNN or Fox
The revolution WILL occur
But not on the idiot box
You'll hear on news
Of the recent U.S. attack
But NOT how the government
Manufactured crack.
Others will try to break silence
And publicize the revolution
But will become pariah's
And endure persecution
They will tell how propaganda
Is corrupting our youth
But in the end
Lies win
Conquering the truth
On top of all this
The only scandal YOU'LL see
Will air at nine o'clock
On ABC
But there's no need to worry
You'll still see the Heat play
You'll know within 45 minutes
If the criminal on CSI got away
But when things go down
Don't be surprised
For when the revolution comes
It won't be televised
