inner/ outer poem
The inner me
by day,
a happy girl without a care in the world.
By night,
a broken girl trying to fix her pain.
The inner me is a girl
caught in a fantasy life.
An open book,
A mix of emotions
looking for an escape.
The outer me, what everyone sees,
Is a girl who has her life all put together.
Athletic, smart, and friendly.
The outer me sometimes,
isn't the true me.
Resisting the pain that is often brought in,
I put up a blockade of happiness.
Though a mixture of both happiness and pain, the inner
and outer me merge to create the real me.
