Demons Awake
She woke up feeling okay
Her Demons where resting
When they wake up it will
Be the scariest part of the day.
They never wake up at the
same time anymore.
She started to fall asleep in class.
Her demons woke up and told her no.
She didn't get any sleep from them
Last night but they don't care.
They started to insult her and making
Her feel like a failure and worthless.
When she got home she knew what to
Do to get them to shut up.
She took the blade and smashed it.
Was this the time she become strong?
Everyone has told her she could do it
This time she did do it.
The Demons got worse only because
They where not being fed.
"How long can they go on now?"
The name calling by the demons got
Worse till she was rising above them.
3 weeks later she had no more Demons
She had finally beat them.
She was proud of herself for being strong.
She was finally happy with herself.
Her scars would tell a story but her
Recovery would be even better.
But a kid had started bullying her.
But she never went back to cutting.
She didn't want the Demons back.
After High School no one bothered
Her anymore.
She had reached true peace,
She was truly happy.
Her self esteem and self worth
Was a lot more now.

What had inspired me to write this was my own demons and my road to recovery. I made a poem about it in my head but this time I really wrote it down. Just remember recovery takes a little while but it isn't impossible.
