Waiting
"Waiting"
I see her walking to her house
She enters and I hear yelling from my window
I close my eyes
I am waiting for the day when she won’t be afraid to walk up her porch steps
I am waiting for the day when there will be no yelling
I waiting for the day when she will feel loved
I waiting for the day when she will shed no tears
I wait for the day when there is no fear behind her eyes and I wait for the day when she will smile and I wait
I wait for the day when she will have no more scars
And I wait for the day when she will feel no pain
I know that someday the wait will be over
