Only Human
Don’t judge a book by its cover.
That’s what we all say
But is it really that simple?
We jump to conclusions, assumptions
Don’t think of what might be behind the cover
Why they look, think, act, treat us this way
We are consumed in a world of assumptions
A world of judgy, selfish people
But it’s only human though… Right?
Truth is, every single person judges.
In the back of their mind, they silently judge, question, assume the plot of the story.
And, when they finally realize the truth
And realize what was happening in the inner works of their locked away mind,
It hits them like a hammer.
They feel it through their whole body, the feeling of guilt that rattles through their spine,
from their fingers to their toes
Because they judged a book by its cover.
