A shattered bird brings down his wing in defeat
For the truth lies beneath the broken wing
The echoes of his cries bring out the only thing left to capture
A song of sadness for all that have gathered
For he has been battered
By the words of someone else’s standards
With nothing left but the song
That never became anything that mattered
