Before A Storm
Place another cigarette in my mouth and let the flame kiss it softly, it helps me relax and seeing you light up, too, helps me feel safe, your touch on my thigh isn't always supposed to be seen as sexual and now, with it on me I feel safe as I take another drag of my cig and contemplate if I should tell you what I'm thinking, and if I did I know that my words would fumble and I would upset the calmness that is with us, a calmness that never comes and when it does we only have a few minutes with it before it leaves again. But I tell the calmness to go and I crush my cigarette on the ground and close my coat tighter and shove my hands in my pockets, ready to release my emotions.
