You dragged me down here
into these shadowed depths,
you say you love me
yet you keep me trapped.
Trapped!
Day or night I see nothing but walls of darkness,
i ache for the sun,
long to fear something besides fear,
you keep me trapped!
Trapped!
Having to stay with you for an eternity,
please set me free.
Days have gone by and I have forgotten,
the rays of light, dragonflies by a creek,
darkness surrounds me,
death is company,
I'm losing hope, losing faith
please, someone, set me free,
from this prison of emptiness,
that destroys your dreams,
please, set me free

The author's comments:
Persephone was inspired by rather dark mood. I wanted to express my emotion by singing it out using all of Persephone's emotions about her kidnap from her mother and her fear and longing for Hades.
