The day before my grandma left this world
she asked me
if you could be
anything
what would you be?
And I said
I am a bird
I know how to fly
Your love gave me wings
Now your saying goodbye
This is
Not the end
Not the close
Just the start of my every day, everyday
Life as a free
Bird

My grandmother has recently become very sick, and I wanted to write a song about her giving me the way to live my life free.
