What They Didn't Tell You About Searching For Happiness
It's like you just don't care.
All I wanted was for you to find the answer.
A meaning for your life,
That didn't plague you like a cancer.
I gave you all the chances.
I defended you whenever I had to.
I tried my best to protect you from this world.
All of this because I love you.
I've tried every possibility.
I've prayed to God even though I don't believe.
I've asked him to protect you,
So that one day our fingers will once again interweave.
Why won't you listen?
Oh why can't you see?
What you're doing to yourself,
It's killing me.
I just want to help,
To be there for you.
I want to change things,
And allow you to start anew.
How can you expect me to hold this in?
I can barely even write this song,
Without spilling tears after every line.
So I have to just try to be strong.
I just hope that it will not be soon,
That I have to say goodbye.
That will be the breaking point,
And I will no longer be able to get by.
